I am a health care provider. Is this the right course for me?

Provider courses are for people in the healthcare and medical fields, who are licensed, certified, or training to provide medical care to patients. People in this category need a completion card to meet a job or school requirement. Courses are offered in both traditional and blended learning formats.

Who is my life support course card from and when can I expect to have it?

All courses are certified by the American Heart Association.  12-24 hours after course completion you should get your e-card via email from eCards@heart.org

How can I reschedule, get a refund, or cancel my class?

If you registered and paid for a class, but cannot make that date or time, and need to reschedule please notify us via email at info@dcilearning.com. An invoice for the $20 rescheduling fee will be sent to you via email for payment. Please pay the rescheduling fee within 72 hours (3 days), or your class will be considered missed, and you will forfeit your initial class payment. We will make every effort to accommodate you reschedule request based on class availability and class size.

Cancellations requested more than 72 hrs. prior to a scheduled class may receive a refund, less a $10 fee. There are no refunds for cancelling within 72 hrs. of a scheduled class or for no-shows. In these cases, you forfeit your payment.

I am having trouble with my online portion of my course. Who can I call?

For trouble with your TalentLMS course, contact your instructor or the progarm director Jane Yeboah via text. Their contact info is located at the beginning of your respective course.

Do I need a book for my BLS, ACLS, PALS course?

The American Heart Association requires all students have access to the course materials (eBook or hard copy provider manual) before and after their respective course. For ACLS and PALS courses, students are expected to prepare and complete the Pre-course assessment before any 100% instructor led courses.

Please note BLS students are not expected to prepare before class.

Links to purchase both the eBook and provider manual will be in your registration confirmation email. If you are completing a blended course, you do not need a book.  Your online materials are available for you to review for 2 years.

Is there a test at the end of the course? What if I do not pass?

BLS/ACLS/PALS

For a healthcare provider taking an instructor led course or HeartCode online BLS, ACLS or PALS class, a written test is required for course completion. You must pass the written exam with an 84% or better, followed by a skill check off with your instructor. I you do not pass the written test you will be given an opportunity to retake the test, at no additional cost. If you are unable to pass after the second attempt, you will have to register, re-enroll, and pay for a new class.

Nurse Aide- Prometric issues the Texas state CNA certification   

 

If you do not pass your course certification exam ( CNA or Phlebotomy), Diamond Career Institute pledges to pay for 50% of your retake fee  

Do you offer any discounts for vocational healthcare courses?

Returning students, who have taken classes through Diamond Career Institute will receive a discount. Contact a school representative prior to enrolling in your next class CNA or Phlebotomy)

Can I pre-pay for a course ( Nurse Aide or Phlebotomy)?

Yes! Register up to 3 months in advance and make payments until your class starts!

Do you accept financial aid or VA funds?

We are a private school, therefore we cannot accept government funds. We do however accept vouchers from third party payers willing to pay for a private education.

What are the enrollment requirements for Nurse Aide?

  1. Be at least 18 years of age.
  2. Have a social security card (non-laminated), and proof of legal status in United states.
  3. Have a valid driver’s license or state or federally issued photo ID. Photocopies are NOT accepted
  4. Be able to read, write, and speak English
  5. Provide proof of successful completion of public, private, or home schooling at the high school level or obtainment of a recognized high school equivalency credential or GED.
  6. Cannot be listed as unemployable on the Employee Misconduct Registry (EMR) and cannot have been convicted of a criminal offense as listed in Texas Health and Safety Code 250.006.
  7. Be in good health and able to bend, twist, lift at least 50 pounds, and be free from communicable disease (health physical form to be filled out by students healthcare provider).
  8. Present evidence of current negative TB screen (a normal chest x-ray is acceptable if skin test is positive, or student has received BCG vaccine)

I want to take the phlebotomy training, but I do not like to have my blood drawn. Can I still apply?

We know it can be frightening and scary for some, but we require all students (outside of medical exemptions) to participate in order to understand what others experience when you draw their blood.  We adhere to the practice of “I stick you, you stick me” in the classroom, in order to provide our students with exceptional hands-on training. All blood draws that are done in class are done are under direct supervision of one of our instructors.

Is a clinical externship required?

Phlebotomy:

Externships are not a requirement in the state of Texas! Diamond Career Institute has created a clinical setting in the classroom, making students able to complete all practice and hands on training during class! All students will complete a minimum of 30 successful venipuncture sticks and 10 successful capillary sticks in order to complete course and qualify to sit for the NHA natial certification exam.

Nurse Aide:

A 40 hour clinical externship is required for course completion/ graduation and elegibility to sit for the state exam. The date and location of your clinical site will be communicated to you in class as well as via email after enrollment. 

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept all major debit/credit cards. All payments are done online through the website or through zelle (214-484-7797) We also accept cashiers checks , if issuing a persoanl check, please note that a $15 fee will be assessed for bouced checks. If you have a 3rd party payer paying for your class, please contact us a admsissions@dcilearning.com

We DO NOT accept cash or cashapp.

Is there a deadline for enrollment?

 As long as the course is displayed on our website – that means that it is open for you to register for it. Once the class fills up, the course will automatically close.
